Greg Lewis, left, senior pastor at Harvest Outreach Ministries, and Jurell Hand, youth and music minister, stand outside the church in Mills River.
The logo for Harvest Outreach Ministries, 127 School House Road, Mills River, is a visual representation of the ministry. Within a circle sectioned by the cross of Christ, a white dove represents the Holy Spirit, a globe identifies the diversity of the congregation, the bread and cup symbolize communion and hands-clasped-in-brotherhood convey the message of friendship and love. Along with the name of the ministry, the logo offers a final, compelling statement, “A Place to Call Home.”
Harvest Outreach Ministries, which held its first service in November, 2002, is patterned on the New Testament early church. A more contemporary worship style is balanced with a belief in the unchanging nature of God’s truth, as revealed in the Bible. The ministry is built on worship, instruction, fellowship, and evangelism.
We’re a multi-ethnic congregation: Caucasian, African American, Asian, Hispanic, all of us together in worship. Our vision has always been a multi-cultural, interdenominational church with a charismatic flavor, where we emphasize a personal commitment to a lifestyle of worship.
